The aim of this paper is to display the foundations and sources on which Kant’s Prolegomena for perpetual peace is built. I claim that these foundations and sources consist in: 1- Internal foundations and sources: These are related closely to Kant’s writings, especially in the Critique period. They consist in: The principle of Universality, the principle of as if, Good Will, Duty, The Kingdom of Ends, the Teleological conception of nature and Kant’s tendcy to peace. 2- External foundations and sources: These come from outside Kant’s philosophy. They consist in: Christainity and its Calling for peace and world brotherhood, Kant’s Age and The Previous philosophers who called for peace, especially Abbe de Saint Pierre and J.J. Rosseau. |
