dc.description.abstract This study aimed at identify the impact of watching dubbed Turkish serials on female college students in Gaza Governorates through a descriptive study in which the researcher used a field scanning methodology. The study was conducted on two hundred female students from three different universities in Gaza Strip which are Al-Aqsa, Al-Azhar and the Islamic universities. A questionnaire was distributed among these students and consisted of three major sections: general data, habits and patterns of exposure and the effects of the above mentioned episodes. The study has several conclusions; the most important one is that 84% of the female students watched the Turkish Serials provided with for approximately four hours daily all over the week. The results also showed that watching such episodes has both positive and negative impacts but at the weak level. Of the positive effects: the development of the beauty sense by a high degree among the female students, identification of the Turkish society cultures, knowing the reasons behind the Turkish society civilization, demanding the freedom of expression, the awareness of the importance of entertainment that is free from bad behaviors and the recognition of the good customs and traditions, all of these were at the middle level. Of the bad effects of watching the Turkish dubbed series is the belief that the youth life is useless without the romantic relationships, this belief was ranked as a high degree. At the medium level, the disadvantages include: staying up late, encouraging isolationism, judging on physical appearance only and excessive desire of money gathering. Finally, the study showed that at the weak level, watching such serials will increase the frustrated level, the sense of deprivation and cause preference of foreign programs at the expense of local and Arabic ones. en_US
