dc.description.abstract The study aimed to investigate the effect of using parts of Cort programme in teaching science to develop the science processes and decision-taking for the eighth grade basic students at Irbid educational directorate. The sample of the study consisted of (148) male and female students. Who were divided into two groups. Each one cosisited of (74) male and female students. The first group was taught using Cort programme, while the other group was taught according to the traditional way for both male and female students. To collect data, the learning material was prepared according to Cort programme. The instruments were prepared in advance which included the learning processes test and decision -taking scale. To ensure the instruments’ validity, they were given to a specialized jury. To get their reliability, Coder -Richardson coefficient (KR-20) was used as well as Cronbach’s Alpha formula. The findings of the study revealed that there were significant statistical differences at (α=.05) on the performance of the post learning processes in favor of the experimental group. Moreover, they showed that there was a significant statistical difference in favor of sex for the male students. In addition, there were significant differences due to the interaction between the teaching process and sex. The findings of the study also revealed that there were significant statistical differences at (α=.05) in the post decision-taking performance scale in favor of the experimental group, and there was a significant difference related to the sex in favor of male students. The findings also showed that there was a strong positive direct correlation between the students’ post learning process test and decision-taking scale. The study recommended, according to the findings of the study, to include Cort Thinking Programme in the teachers’ preparation programs before and within their service. en_US
