dc.description.abstract The aim of this study is to investigate post traumatic stress disorder and coping skills among Syrian students refugees in Jordan and their relationship with some variables . The sample of the study consisted of (246) students (83 males and 163 females), who were randomly selected from schools in Irbid Governorate, Koura Directorate of Education, ranged in age between (6-13 years) from the level of the First primary grade to Seventh grade. The students responded to a scale of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) (Davidson, Book, & Colket, 1999) and a measure of personal and social adjustement (Al-Ali,2004) after checking their validity and reliability . The results of the study showed that the means for the scale of PTSD, among Syrian students refugees in Jordan were moderate. and the means on the scale of coping skills were moderate. No Statistically significant differences were found in PTSD, and coping skills among the sample, attributed to gender. Significant differences on PTSD, and coping skills were found according to age . There were no significant differences depending on the period of asylum in Jordan on PTSD scale and coping skills. There were significant differences on PTSD and coping skills according to the loss of a family member. Finally, the results showed statistically significant differences in PTSD due to coping skills . en_US
