Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the teaching effectiveness in the girl’s college of home economics and art education in Riyadh, Saudi- Arabia from student perspectives. A sample of (265) female students out of a population of (2657) female students in the second semester of the academic year (1425-1426) was selected and used in the study. The researcher developed a study instrument to collect the data; and its validity and reliability were found acceptable. The overall results showed that the level of the teaching effectiveness was good but not excellent. This is due to at least two reasons: first the college faculty are qualified academically but not behaviorally in teaching methods: second the inflexibility of the girls colleges regulations restrict faculty which in turn got reflect in their teaching performance. Also, the following variables were found insignificant: type of the course (major or elective,) year of the study (third- fourth), and departments (food and diet, cloths and sewing, art education, and home management).
