dc.description.abstract The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of using cooperative learning strategy on developing lesson planning and teaching skills of the student teachers of Arabic language in College of Education at Kuwait University. The research sample consists of (60) student teachers distributed on two groups. The experimental group (30) was taught using cooperative learning strategy, while the control group (30) was taught using traditional methods of teaching. The two groups received two tests, the first in lesson planning skills and the second in teaching skills. The results of the study showed that there are significant statistical differences in each lesson planning skills and teaching skills between experimental group and control group in favor of experimental group. The study revealed many recommendations: use cooperative learning strategy to teach students in college level, train pre-service teachers of various subjects to use cooperative learning strategy in teaching, conduct researches to investigate the effect of cooperative learning strategy on developing planning and teaching skills in different subjects other than Arabic language. en_US
