Abstract:
This study aims at evaluating the performance of student – teachers in the teaching practice (practicum) course in the education program in Nablus Region at Al-Quds Open University. The sample of the study consisted of (81) students; (13) male student – teachers and (68) female student – teachers. They are distributed into five specializations .The researcher used the Trainees Evaluation Form included in the Practical Education Course that is approved for this purpose at Al-Quds Open University. The validity and reliability of the internment were determined. The study showed a number of results among them the following ones: - There was clear weakness in the performance of student – teachers in the Teaching Practice (Practicum) Course; the results showed that the performance of student – teachers was weak in (4) activities, acceptable in (27) activities and medium in (14) activities. - There were no statistical differences in the performance of student– teachers due to gender of student – teachers or to his/her specialization. - There were no statistical differences in the Teaching Practice (Practicum) Course in the Trainee’s Evaluation Form domains (Lesson Planning, application of the learning situation, evaluation, and personal features) as due to gender of the student – teachers or to his / her evaluation.
