Attitudes of Students of the Jordanian Universities Towards University Achievement Exam

dc.description.abstract This study aimed at investigating Attitudes of Students of the Jordanian Universities towards University Achievement Exam. To achieve this, a 36- item questionnaire constructed to measure attitudes towards the philosophy of exam, content, procedures of administration and decisions based on it. The questionnaire was administrated on 596 male and female students selected randomly from five public and private Universities after establishing its reliability and validity. To answer the study questions, the means, standard deviations, T-test and ANOVA were used. The results showed that students of the Jordan universities have positive attitudes towards University Achievement Exam; the results also showed that there are significant differences in attitudes towards philosophy of exam attributed to gender favored to female. Also the results showed that there are significant differences in attitudes towards decisions based on exam attributed to cumulative rating. Moreover, there are significant differences in attitudes towards philosophy of exam and procedures of administration attributed to college favored to humanist college students, in other side there are significant differences in attitudes towards exam content attributed to university favored to public universities students. The study recommended accredits Achievement Exam as on criterion for judging students proficiency in different fields. en_US
