Abstract:
The present study aims at investigating the effectiveness of a suggested training program in developing rhetoric teaching skills of pre-service teachers in the lights of recent trends of teaching Arabic rhetoric. Subjects of the present study consisted of thirty pre-service teachers of enrolled in the Educational Diploma at Taif, Faculty of Education. The researcher has developed a set of tools (a list of rhetoric teaching skills, a suggested training program, an achievement test, and an observation checklist). Based on the analysis of the obtained data, results showed that there were statistically significant differences at the level of (0.01) in means of scores obtained by subjects of the study as reflected in the pre-post tests and scores of collecting data (favoring the treatment group) especially in the achievement test in teaching Arabic rhetoric for pre-service-teachers. This indicates the effectiveness of the suggested training program in developing cognitive aspects of teaching skills necessary for teaching rhetoric to the target subjects of study such as Planning, application, and evaluation in the lights of recent trends to teach rhetoric to Arabic language pre-service teachers. Moreover, the present study has also come up with some important recommendations and suggestions for further research that may help researchers in the field.
