dc.description.abstract This study aimed at standardizing symptom checklist 90-Revised (SCL- 90-R) for Jordanian environment. To achieve this aim, the (90) items of the checklist were translated into Arabic in accordance with the Jordanian environment. The checklist was administered to (712) individuals (630 normal individuals, 82 abnormal individuals). The results of the factor analysis indicated that there were nine meaningful factors. Eighty four items out of the 90 items were loaded on there factors, which were correlated with each other. The Psychometric properties of the final form of the checklist (84 items) were acceptable. The internal consistency (Cronbach alpha) for the Jordanian version was (0.90). Also, all of the validity indicators were satisfactory, where the checklist could discriminate between normal and abnormal individuals of both genders. Males showed significantly higher scores on the hostility subscale then females, whereas results showed significantly higher scores on the other subscales as well as on the total score. en_US
