The Effect of Program Based SWOT Analyses of Strategy in the Teaching of Listening to Develop Listening Comprehension and Strategic Listening for 2nd Grade Prep School Students

Abstract

This research aimed at using a SWOT analysis in the teaching of listening, to develop listening comprehension and listening strategic for 2nd primary grade students. The study sample consisted of 30 students of the experimental group who studied the SWOT problem analysis strategy and 30 students of the control group. The research used an experimental approach of semiexperimental design. This study used a listening program which was prepared by using a SWOT analysis strategy and also listening comprehension test and a listening strategic scale. The significant result for this study was an improvement in listening comprehension skills and listening strategies for primary students. The research recommended that the strategy be included in Arabic language curricula and that electronic courses should be built using the proposed teaching strategy to develop the skills of listening comprehension and strategic listening for middle school students.
