dc.description.abstract The current study aimed to diagnose the level of encouragement of Arabic language teachers in the Sultanate of Oman on critical thinking skills and creative thinking among 12 grade students. The conclusions were made while by answering the following questions: - What is the level of encouragement of Arabic language teachers in the Sultanate of Oman on critical thinking skills and creative thinking among 12 grade students.? - Are there statistically signifcant differences between the level of encouragement of Arabic language teachers in the Sultanate of Oman on critical thinking skills and creative thinking of 12 grade students due to the gender variable )male, female(? To achieve this goal, an observation card was designed for the performance of Arabic language teachers in literature classes of literature for 12 grade students. The sample of the teachers who applied on this tool was 16 teachers from the governorates of North Batinah and south of the Sultanate of Oman. The most prominent results of the study indicate that Arabic teachers encourage critical and creative thinking skills - in general - at a high level. At the same time, they encourage critical thinking more than creative thinking skills. Arabic teachers also encourage general skills for critical thinking at a high level, as for the general skills of creative thinking; they all have a high level of encouragement, with the exception of fexibility.. The current study recommended investing in the general high level of teachers in encouraging creative and critical thinking skills of students by encouraging them to continue through various training programs and harmonizing their performance and the nature of the knowledge content that fgure in textbooks. en_US
