The Rights of Reply and Corrections in the Periodical Publications

At the same time the legislator guaranteed the right of reply and correction for people who are harmed physically or morally by the publication of an article or story in the printed subject in which the abuse or fabrication , sign or allusion to certain person or specific destination. In addition to this, he /she is granted the legal right in lawsuits , in which case, the expenses of publishing the reply and connection is the responsibility of the news organization that published incorrect news or information . The follow up of judicial procedures to inflict the appropriate punishment is time consuming on one hand , and on the other , it does not cancel the consequent implications of publishing such news . Therefore, most countries have organized this right through their national legislation. At the international level, the international community established this right through conventions such as the International Conventions on the Trading of International News and the Right to Reply and Corrections issued in 13, May, 1949.
