Perceived Degree of Empowerment of Teachers and Personnel of the Directorates of Education in the Sultanate of Oman

dc.description.abstract This study aimed at investigating the perceived degree of empowering teachers and personnel at the Directorates of Education in the Sultanate of Oman. A 30-item Likert-type questionnaire was administered to 341 participants of a convenient sample. The findings revealed a moderate degree of perceived empowerment in general. However, there were discrepancies in perceiving the degree of empowerment on each of the six dimensions of the instrument. Status and sense of self-efficacy came first followed by professional development and independence, then impact and lastly, decision making. Statistically significant differences that could be attributed to demographic characteristics on some dimensions were also reported. The study concluded with conclusions and recommendations. en_US
