dc.description.abstract This study aimed at identifying Jordanian social studies teachers’ acquisition of the ability of information evaluation and the effect of gender, specialization and qualification in this acquisition. The sample of the study consisted of (225) social studies teachers. A test of the ability of information evaluation consisting of (89) items was administered to all the subjects of the study. The results of the study showed a low - level acquisition of the ability of information evaluation by the teachers, it was lower than the educationally accepted level (85%). The statistical analysis also showed that there were significant differences (α = 0.05) in such acquisition among teachers due to their gender in favor of female, while there were no significant differences (α = 0.05) due to specialization or qualification. en_US
