The Standardization of “Iowa” Multidimensional Suggestibility Scale among Taibah University Students

Abstract

The current research aimed at Standardizing Multidimensional Iowa Suggestibility Scale using self-report prepared by Kotov, Bellman, & Watson )2004( and providing the psychometric properties that verify its validity and reliability in educational, psychological and social domains in a sample of )584( university students from Taibah University in Almadinah Almunawwarah. The results showed that there are 6 sub-dimensions for Suggestibility namely: persuadability, sensation contagion, physiological reactivity, peer conformity، psychosomatic control, and stubborn opinionatedness. Using Cronbach' alpha coefficient, and the factor analysis. The results showed acceptable psychometric properties indicators of the sub-scales and the total score of the scale which verifies the validity of using the scale in measuring suggestibility
