Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of the use of
Plickers program in the structural assessment in order to develop the achievement and
motivation of Third Grade Primary students in the Kingdom of Bahrain. To achieve
the objective of the study, the researcher used the experimental method by having
both the experimental and the control groups in the implementation of the research
procedures. The tool of the study included the Internet-based assessment of Plickers
to measure its impact on the development of the achievement of science for the third
grade student. In addition, the researcher measured the motivation of the students
towards the use of the Plickers program for the experimental group only while he used
the usual methods of the Structural Assessment in the development of achievement
with the control group. The study sample consisted of (56) students distributed equally
to both the experimental and control groups. The results of the study showed that there
is a statistically significant difference at the level of (α ≤ 0.05) between the average
scores of the sample of the experimental group which used the online evaluation
program in the development of the achievement of science among the students of
the Third Grade Primary and the average score of the members of the control group
which used the usual methods of the Structural Assessment in the evaluation process
for the experimental group. The results also showed the presence of a statistically
significant difference at the significance level (α ≤ 0.05) between the mean scores
of the experimental group in the post-application of the motivation measurement
towards learning by using the Plickers program and the mean hypothetical theory for
the post-application. The students' attitudes toward using the Plickers program were
positive on the motivation measurement. The results emphasize the effectiveness of
the Plickers program in the development of achievement and motivation towards the
use of the program in the process of learning. The study recommended the need to
expand the use of the program Plickers in the evaluation process of various stages of
education to verify the level of academic achievement in students.
