Use of the Graded Response Model in Building the Academic Readiness Measure for a University Student

dc.description.abstract The study aimed to use the Graded Response Model (GRM( in building a measure of academic readiness for university students, and the descriptive analytical method. The sample consisted of (710( male and female students from Shaqra University with second to the eighth levels during the second semester of the academic year (2021/2020(. The scale consisting of 22 items, which was prepared by the researcher, was applied. The statistical package in the social sciences (SPSS( and MULTILOG 7 programs were used to analyze the data of this scale. The results of the study showed that the scale had appropriate psychometric properties, if the value of the reliability coeffcient of the scale items was (0.93). The scale had also multiple indications of validity, and matching the scale items with the assumptions of the graduated response model in the item response theory that the scale is one-dimensional. en_US
