The Parallelism and Rhyme and their Impact on Meaning in Mahmoud Darweesh’s Collection of Poems “kazahri il-lawzi aw ab’aad”

Abstract

This study aims at tackling parallelism in Mahmoud Darweesh’s collection of poems ������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������ with an overview of other researchers trends investigating parallelism. Then, two types of parallelism are discussed because of their frequent appearance in the poems. The two types are Synonymous Parallelism, and Synthetic Parallelism. The study also attempts to investigate parallelism and rhyme. In doing so, cases of internal rhyme and end-line rhyme are exposed as well as rhythmic variation in modern poetry. �������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������� and development of meaning as well as in enriching poems with developed critical aspects that help show the new identity of modern poetry. The study also shows dimensions of stylistic combination among the internal units of the text and the reflection of all the on the meaning.
