This study mainly aimed at investigating the use of good and poor language learner strategies and of the cognitive, meta-cognitive, social and affective by English language students in the Hashemite University. The researcher used a questionnaire distributed to 300 students. Results indicated that the students used five main strategies adopted by good language learners in addition to the social and meta-cognitive strategies. Results also indicated statistically significant differences (α= 0.05) between their responses to the metacognitive, cognitive and social strategies according to study level, grade point average and language proficiency. |
