Abstract:
The concept of total quality management in production and service organizations is a modern concept that managers seek to apply, to improve production and quality levels. We cannot apply the principles of total quality management without taking values and attitudes of the staff into consideration. People’s values and culture have impact on their reactions towards the managerial practices. This study was conducted to identify the relationship between organizational values and the principles of total quality management in two Algerian enterprises. The results showed negative organizational values of workers, while attitudes towards the application principles of total quality management by the staff were positive. This research points out the need for special interest in organizational and cultural values. This can help for the successful applications of the principles of total quality management in organizations, in Arab and Islamic societies in general.
