dc.description.abstract	This study aimed at investigating the articulatory and acoustic characteristics of the fricatives in Arabic. As for the articulatory characteristics the study described them according to their category and production. As for the acoustic characteristics of fricatives their time of vibration, frequency, energy,and pressure were measured by the computer speech lab (CSL) across some chosen phonetic contexts.
