The aim of this paper is to analyze the technique of recalling characters of Heritage which takes place in the textual interaction in Ahmad Ala’dwani’s poetry and to show how this technique enriches his poetical text. The research starts with a preface that talks about the mechanisms of the characters recall; these mechanisms are: the recall by name, role, and speech. It also focuses on studying and analyzing the modes of the recalled characters, showing their new poetical, artistic, and visionary contexts and patterns. The modes are divided into three types: religious, legendary, and literary characters. In addition, the religious characters are divided into three types: prophets, pious and discarded characters. The legendary characters are related to Sindbad, the most famous legendary character, whereas the literary characters are recalled by two ways: the recall by name, and by speech or what might be called the implying recall. The research shows the roles of the recalled characters in deepening the poet’s vision and giving the poetical text wide prospects for interpretation, contemporary dimensions, and indicative and rhetorical references. The poet creates out of these characters symbols, masks and mirrors that reflect his poetical and emotional experience, and enlightening tendency. |
