dc.description.abstract Performance appraisal is no longer the responsibility of the line manager only, who used to evaluate the employees’ performance individually which might include bias or nonobjectivity. Performance appraisal now is a group process that involves many opinions as well as giving the employees feedback for further improvement. This is what is called the 360 degrees evaluation system. This paper presents a summary of a book published by the author in Dar AlManahej, Amman, Jordan in 2018 titled: Performance Evaluation in Educational Institutions using 360 degree system, (AlHariri, 2018). The book contains 5 chapters: the concept, objectives and importance of performance appraisal, performance appraisal using 360 degrees system, theories related to performance appraisal, teachers’ appraisal and examples of performance appraisal forms. The main objective of the book is to inform the readers about the importance of performance appraisal and the recent examles of performance appraisal. Giving feedback to employees about their strengths and weaknesses will help them in improving their work skills as well as in achieving better outcomes and higher quality work which will eventually lead to better employee job satisfaction. en_US
