This study aimed to figure out the impact of the Phillips strategy on enhancing the understanding of the relationships between the ideas of the reading text among tenth grade students in Palestine. Phillips method was applied in accordance with a specific mechanism where students in each group are given a reading task and asked to implement the accompanying practices and receive feedback from the Arabic language teacher in line with the procedures previously set. To achieve this goal, the members of the study were selected and distributed into two groups: an experimental group which consisted of 19 male and female students, who studied through the Phillips method and a control group which consisted of )22( male and female students who have studied using the ordinary method. The researcher prepared an essay test to measure two main skills to understand the relationships among the ideas of the reading test, which consisted of )32( items that handled all indicators. the test was applied on the sample of the study after its validity and reliability were confirmed. The results showed the existence of statistically significant differences in the performance of the two study groups on two main skills in addition to the sub-skills to understand the relationships between the reading text ideas as a whole as well as to the variable of teaching method for the benefit |
