dc.description.abstract The study aimed to investigate the relationship of social stigma and Family adjustment among. Down syndrome children. The sample consisted of (133) families, including (133) fathers and (133) mothers from Amman Governorate and the Governorate of Irbid. To achieve the objectives of the study the measure of social stigma and the measure of Family Adjustment were used. The mean , the standard deviation, and the correlation coefficient( person r) between social stigma and family adjustment were calculate for both parents of down syndrome children›s› . The results showed that the prevalence level of social stigma toward families’ with Down syndrome children came within a moderate level by parent’s perspective. The level of domestic Family adjustment among families’ with Down syndrome children came within a high level by parent’s perspective. The relationships between social stigma and Family adjustment from both parents point view were negatively correlated for all dimension . In lights of the results of the study, some recommendations were suggested. en_US
