Abstract:
Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) is a modern software (or in the form of middleware) approach that implements a Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) and Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) principles where independent services run and communicate with others through a high-level network protocol in a distributed computing environment. This research demonstrates a performance evaluation by comparing the selected performance metrics such as response time, throughput, and resource utilization on the chosen ESB products. This type of study is very limited and its publications are hard to find. Thus, our work could become a new reference for organizations when choosing the best available ESB product in the market nowadays. Furthermore, this research also studies the effect of chosen performance factors on the selected performance metrics through systematic measurements.
