This study aimed at determining the relationship between math. Achievement and math. anxiety and attitudes towards math. Also, this study aimed at determining the relative importance for each of these variables in predicting students’ math. Achievement. The sample consisted of 152 males and 146 females students in the tenth grade. The results indicated statistically significant correlation’s between math. Achievement and the independent variables (math. anxiety, and attitudes toward math.). Results of the multiple regression analysis indicated that the independent variables work differently in predicting student’s math. Achievement. For males these variables explained (39.61%) of the variance and explained only (26.64%) for females. Also, for males’ attitudes towards math. explained (34.81%) of the variance, and math anxiety explained (4.80%). For females’ attitudes towards mathematics explained (22.9%) of the variance and math. anxiety explained (4.55%). |
