The Relation Between the Leadership Style Used by the School Principals and the Level of Organizational Commitment in the Schools of the Education Directorate in Tafila Governorate

dc.description.abstract This study aimed at investigating the nature of relation between leadership styles of school principals and the level of the organizational commitment of teachers in the schools of the Directorate of Education in Tafila Governorate and the effect of, gender, specialization, experience and qualification in the level of organizational commitment of teachers. The sample of the study consists of (235) teachers (male and female) chosen randomly. The researcher used two questionnaires for collecting information. The SPSS were used for data analysis. The result of the study indicated that all leadership styles practiced by school principals are at the average degree, but the most common style is the convenient one. The result also indicated that the level of organizational commitment of teachers range between high and middle levels. The results of the study also showed that there are nonstatistically significant differences in the level of the organizational commitment of teachers due to sex and specialization. The result also showed that there are statistically significant differences in the organizational commitment of teachers due to level of teaching experience. Nonstatistically were found between short and average experience in all dimensions. The result of the study showed that there are statistically significant differences in organizational commitment of teachers, due the variation of qualification. The results indicated that there are nonstatistically significant differences in the organizational commitment of teachers due to study variables. In the light of the above results the researcher achieved some recommendation which may benefit’ the ministry of education to develop the teaching job. en_US
