dc.description.abstract The purpose of this study was to identify the level of occupational stress among elementary school teachers and to determine the effect of demographic variables on perception of teachers stress. The sample consisted of (121) elementary school teachers, selected randomly from the elementary schools teachers. To collect the data a questionnaire of occupational stress was constructed, validated, and applied to the sample. The result of the study revealed that the overall mean of teacher’s occupational stress was .This could mean that the majority of the elementary school teachers are suffering from occupational stress. The study showed also that there is a significant mean difference on stress perception due to sex, which means that female teachers are suffering more than males, but other demographic variables were not significant, and the interaction between sex and other demographic variables were not significant. Also, the study points out the teachers’ occupational stress which includes: school principles, administrations and behaviors, low salaries, supervisor’s evaluation, hard work conditions, and Israeli occupation procedures. en_US
