dc.description.abstract |
The purpose of this study was to assess the level of scientific literacy of the Basic Schools Science Teachers in the District of Tulkarm at the first semester of the academic year (2005-2006). The study investigates the effects of the variables of gender, scientific qualifications, and experience and school site on the level of scientific literacy. A test of scientific literacy was constructed by the researchers consisting of (32) multiple choice items with a reliability rate (0.94). The Study population consisted of (252) teachers, while the sample contained (84) teachers. The study revealed that the level of scientific literacy of the Basic Schools Science Teachers in the District of Tulkarm was low. It also indicated that there were statistically significant differences due to scientific qualification to the benefit of B.A. Finally, the study revealed that there were no statistically significant differences due to gender, experience and school site. |
