The Effectiveness of a Group-Counseling Program through Peers in Reducing the Isolation Behavior of Eighth Grade Female Students

dc.description.abstract This study aimed at examining the effectiveness of Peers Counseling Program to reduce the isolation behavior of the eighth grade females. The study consisted of two samples: The first sample consisted of (20) students, who had the lowest mean on the isolation scale; the second consisted of 40 students, who had the highest mean on the isolation scale. The first sample (20) students were randomly divided into, experimental and control groups. The students in the first experimental group were trained to become the peer counselors. The second sample (40) students were also randomly divided into two groups. For data collection a Isolation and communication scale was used after its validity and reliability were checked. For analyzing the data means, standard deviations and ANCOVA test were used. The results showed significant difference between the two groups, in favor to the experimental group in to the communication skills scale. Results also showed significant difference between the two groups, in favor to the experimental group in to the isolation behavior scale. Results showed a reduction in the students’ social isolation behavior. en_US
