dc.description.abstract |
This study aimed at investigating the counseling needs of Sultan Qaboos University students and its relationship with selected variables. A sample consists of 325 male and female students were selected randomly from seven scientific and humanities colleges in the year 2003-2004. A 60 items questionnaire was used to measure the personal, vocational, and academic needs. The reliability and validity of the instrument were high and suitable for implementing the research .Results of the current study revealed that: - The academic needs of the students came first, followed by personal and vocational respectively. - The result showed a significant differences between the students of scientific and humanities in favor of humanities colleges. - The result showed a significant differences on the counseling needs in favorite of female students. - There were no statistical differences between the means of students on the counseling needs and their academic levels. Several recommendations were formulated to improve counseling needs of students. |
