Educational Values that Should be Included in the School Curricula of the First Three Primary Grades Pupils in Jordanian Schools

dc.description.abstract This study aims at identifying the educational values which should be included in the school curricula from the first three primary grades teachers’’ views, and to what extent these values are available in school textbooks. To achieve this, teachers developed questionnaire, and it was checked for validity and reliability. The results of the study showed the following: - A list of 44 educational values was identified. - The findings of the questionnaire showed that the respondents emphasized that all educational values are important to include in the school curricula in the first three primary grades. - The findings of content analysis revealed that most of the educational values are not available in a high degree in school textbooks. - There was a variation in the distribution of educational values in school textbooks, especially science and career education textbooks. On the basis of the findings of the study, a number of relevant recommendations were introduced for the teachers and curricula designers en_US
