The Problem of Eating Disorders Among University Students and Differences in their Attitudes Toward that According to Some Demographic Variables

dc.description.abstract This study aimed at assessing the prevalence of eating disorders problem among university students, and knowing the differences in their behaviors and attitudes toward this phenomenon regarding to their gender, grand point average, field of specialization, and level of study. A sample of (714) student from one of the Jordanian universities was randomly selected in order to achieve the goals of the study. The Eating Disorder Inventory-2 was used to collect the data for this study. The statistical analysis of the data showed a slightly level below the average of behaviors and attitudes toward eating among university students. The results, also, showed no statistically significant differences in behaviors and attitudes toward eating among university students regarding any of their gender or grand point average. On the other hand, the results showed a statistically significance differences in behaviors and attitudes toward eating among university students regarding their field of specialization, and also, in their level of study. Based on these findings, some recommendations were suggested. en_US
