The Environmental Educational Concepts that Included in the Contemporary Issues and Problems’ Textbook for the Secondary Educational Level in the Kingdom of Bahrain

dc.description.abstract This study aimed at exploring the environmental educational concepts that included in the Contemporary Issues and Problems’ Textbook for the secondary educational level in the Kingdom of Bahrain. To achieve this aim, the researcher prepared a content analysis list that consists of 94 environmental educational concepts. The validity and reliability of this list were approved by research experts. The study community, which represented at the same time the study sample consisted of the whole content of the Contemporary Issues and Problems’ Textbook The content analysis method has been applied to analyze this textbook. At the end of the study, a list of environmental educational concepts had been suggested to be included in the Contemporary Issues and Problems’ Textbook. It was found that the total number of the paragraphs that the environmental educational concepts have been mentioned in was (943) paragraphs with a percentage of (87.7%). However, most of the mentioned concepts were related to the technology and economy field as it was mentioned in (416) paragraphs with a percentage of (44.11%). Most of the mentioned environmental educational concepts were found in the paragraph’s content and their total number was (691) concepts with a percentage of (73.28%). Finally, the study recommended emphasizing on the need to introduce the environmental educational concepts in the contents of all social studies textbooks in an organized and balanced way. en_US
