Abstract:
The research aimed at knowing the degree of professional satisfaction of social studies teachers in Egypt in the light of the comprehensive evaluation and active learning strategies in some primary schools and the over generalization of applying the comprehensive evaluation strategy at the primary stage. The sample of the study was 30 (male and female) social study teachers at Assiut Administration. The researcher prepared the study tools (a questionnaire of the difficulties of applying the comprehensive evaluation strategy, a questionnaire of difficulty of applying active learning strategy, and a measure of professional satisfaction among social study teachers.) The researcher administered the tools to the study group during the first semester of 2008 – 2009 academic years. The results showed some difficulties that face social study teachers in applying comprehensive evaluation and active learning strategies which lead to professional dissatisfaction among the teachers of study group. This confirms the idea that the difficulties that teachers face in applying this new strategy, affects their professional satisfaction.
