dc.description.abstract This research was conducted to investigate the current practices of evaluating learning in Minia University as viewed by a sample of students and identifying their hopeful future practices. For achieving this aim, a questionnaire was prepared and validated to assess Practices of Evaluating Learning (between reality and hope). The questionnaire was filled out by a sample of university students. The findings demonstrated the low level of current practices of evaluating learning in Minia University according to the quality of performance criterion, whereas the level of expected evaluation practices was high. Statistically significant differences were found among all current practices of evaluating learning and the expected ones. There was also a statistically significant difference between males and females in their views concerning the current practices of evaluating learning related to the administrative aspects and the ethical code of evaluation while differences weren’t significant in the expected practices of evaluating learning between males and females. Statistically significant differences were found among students of scientific colleges and those of humanities and social sciences colleges concerning the current practices of evaluating learning related to goal of evaluation, comprehensiveness, continuity and the practices related to the instruments of evaluation while the differences were significant in their expected practices of evaluating learning concerning the administrative aspects and the ethical code of evaluation. en_US
