dc.description.abstract |
The current study aimed to know the relationship between level of psychological integration for the elderly and its relationship to their health behavior, self- efficacy and other variables. This study was applied to the community of Karak. In order to achieve the objectives of the study, a variable sample of elderly was chosen and the number of members was (224) people. Two scales were developed which are: level of psychological integration for elderly people and their health behavior, the measure of self-efficacy which was developed by Schwarzer (1994) and was used also in this study. The results of the study for both levels are as follows: level of psychological integration, level of health behavior and self efficacy have got a middle average. There is a positive relationship which is statistically significant among both levels; level of psychological integration, level of health behavior and self-efficacy for the elderly. There are no statistically significant differences at the level of psychological integration and self- efficacy due to gender while differences in health behavior according to the gender in favor of females are compared to males was clear. In addition, there are no statistically significant differences at the level of education at some levels. The survey has a number of recommendations including: attention to the level of psychological integration, taking care of male elderly at the level of health behavior whose age (60-64) years, and the age group (70-74) years. |
