Abstract:
This study aimed at identifying the evaluation of supervisory and managerial authority to implement educational supervision system in State schools in the Sultanate of Oman. To achieve the aims of the study, a questionnaire was designed, consisting of (49) items distributed into seven domains namely: the objectives of the educational supervision, organizational structure of educational supervision, choice of supervisors, supervisory plans, supervisory methods and tools used, supervisory programs and activities, preparation and professional development for supervisors. The validity and reliability of the questionnaire was examined. The sample of the study consisted of (500) supervisors and administrators. The results showed that the means of all domains of educational supervision system in intermediate, range between (2.97-3.60). The descending order of these domains as follows: supervisory programs and activities, supervisory plan, organizational structure of educational supervision, choice of supervisors, supervisory methods and tools used, the objectives of the educational supervision, and professional development for supervisors. The results also showed differences in all study variables. Based on the results, a nimber of recommendations have been suggested.
