Abstract:
The aim of this research was to identify the degree of readiness of public secondary schools for girls in the city of Hail to manage school crises. The sample of the study consisted of 73 school principals and assistant principals, who represent the whole community of the study. The researchers followed the descriptive survey methodology for this study using a questionnaire which covers all the basic aspects of crisis management and readiness of the school facilities and staff for such situation. The results of the study showed insufficiency in the degree of school readiness to manage crises both in safety facilities and in the specialized school staff who can manage such crisis. The recommendations of the study stressed on the importance of improving the specifications of school buildings, providing necessary equipment, forming a specialized team to manage crisis, and spreading a culture of crisis management among students and their parents.
