Prevalence Behavioral Problems among Preschool Children in the Kingdom of Bahrain

dc.description.abstract This study aimed at identifying the most common behavioral problems among preschool children (3-6 years) in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The rsearcher developed a check list based on previous research and preschool intervews during the pilot study. The sample composed of 489 preschool teachers from 24 preschools. The preschool’s teacher was asked to complete a checklist of 8 behavioral problems developed by the researcher. The results revealed three prevalence behavioral problems among the preschool children in Bahrain. The first problem was attention deficit and the percentage was 24.34 % of the sample size. The second problem was attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and its percentage was 22.10%.The third problem was aggression and the percentage was 21.88%. The results are in agreement with previous studies in other countries. The results showed statistical significant difference between boys and girls in the three problems for the benefit of boys .The highest value was in aggression. However, there was no significant variation among age groups. en_US
