Abstract:
This research aimed to improve the skills of generating ideas through written expressions of Princess Nora Bint Abdulrahman University Students by using the ten strategies of SCAMPER. The researcher used a semi experimental approach in designing one experimental group. The research tools used were (a pre-post test, and the observation card) which were designed according to the ten strategies of SCAMPER (substitute, combine, adapt, modify, magnify, reduce , put to other uses, eliminate, reverse, and rearrange). The training program included ten training units. The total number of the sample was 31 students,who were randomly selected from different majors and different colleges in Princess Nora Bint Abdulrahman University. After applying the training program, a statistical analysis was made. It revealed the following results: - The sample of the research showed higher levels of proficiency in each strategy, with some differences in the proficiency level. - The training programme was so effective, as the effect reached “2.69”. Many recommendations and suggestions were given in light of the research results.
