dc.description.abstract The present study aimed at identifying the differences between individuals who suffer from dyslexia and the normal ones in Stanford Binet Intelligence scale, fourth edition in verbal reasoning, abstraction visual reasoning and quantitative reasoning and short-term memory . The study also aimed to focus on the role of Rorschach Test in determining the clinical functions of children suffering from dyslexia and detection of ego functions. Participants consisted of (14) students in the fourth grade primary school in El-Kharga city in the New Valley Governorate in the Arab Republic of Egypt who ranged in age from (9-10) years and who were enrolled in the 1st semester of the school year (2011-2012). They were divided equally into two groups, dyslexics and normals. The clinical study consisted of (3) students suffering from dyslexia (female & two males). Tools used are : Arabic Reading Test (ART) and Stanford Binet Intelligence Scale, fourth edition and the Rorschach Test. Results: No significant differences between the averages of the scores obtained by children suffering from dyslexia and normals in verbal reasoning, abstraction, visual reasoning and quantitative reasoning and short-term memory were found. The study also confirmed that Rorschach Test can be used to detect the functional clinical dynamics of dyslexic children as it appeared in poor productive capacity, rigidity of perceptional processes, inability to control impulses, poor sensitivity to external objects, affective inhibition and lack of trust in others. en_US
