Abstract:
This study aimed at investigating the relationship between emotional and social intelligence after training in both types of intelligence. A sample of (59) students were randomly divided into three groups: experimental group (social intelligence training program), experimental group (emotional intelligence training program), and a control group (no training). To achieve the goals of the study, the researchers developed two training programs to develop social and emotional intelligence and used the Sterenberg’s Social Intelligence Scale and the Emotional Intelligence Scale after ensuring validity and reliability. One way (ANCOVA) revealed that social intelligence-training program had a significant effect on student’s performance on total scores of the social and emotional intelligence scales due to the group. Also results revealed that the emotional intelligence training program had a significant effect on student’s performance on total scores of the social and emotional intelligence scale due to the group. The results also showed that there was a significant positive correlation between social intelligence scale scores and emotional intelligence scale scores in both of the pre test and post test scores.
