This study aimed at investigating students' attitudes towards learning science utilizing electronic-learning system (Eduwave). It also aimed at investigating whether gender, grade level, and performance in scientific disciplines, has any effect on students' attitudes. A questionnaire that consisted of 37 items was completed by 395 female and male students who were chosen at random from Irbid public schools. The study used the descriptive survey method. The results showed a positive attitude in two of the domains namely: joy and interest in learning science, and valuing the importance of learning science using Eduwave. In addition, the study showed neutral attitudes regarding the third domain; the nature of learning science. Furthermore, the results showed significant differences at (=0.05) in students' attitudes in the nature of learning science using Eduwave domain due to gender in favor of females, and grade level in favor of 10th grade to 8th grade. No significant difference was found in all the other disciplines due to gender, grade level, performance in scientific disciplines. Based on the results, the authors recommended continuing teaching science using Eduwave, extending its use in all other disciplines, and developing and enhancing it to promote higher-order (levels of) thinking, helping students acquire problem solving skills, considering individual differences and evaluating students' work in a fair and accurate manner. |
