The present study sought to identify the administrative accountability application requirements at the government schools in the Sultanate of Oman. It also focused on highlighting the differences among the sample group attributed to their gender, qualifications and number of years of experience. The population of the study consisted of all employees working at the government schools in the Sultanate of Oman. A random sample of (171) principals was selected from the whole population. In order to collect the data, a questionnaire was developed. It consisted of (48) statements which were grouped under three dimensions (administrative accountability transparency and spreading its culture, administrative accountability tools and methods and conditions of administrative accountability team). The data were analyzed using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). The analysis revealed the following results: 1. The sample of the study valued administrative accountability application at the government schools in the Sultanate of Oman to a great extent. 2. There were statistically significant differences from the sample's point of view about conditions of administrative accountability team attributed to scientific qualification in favor of PhD/Master holders. 3. There were statistically significant differences from the sample's point of view about administrative accountability application in general and on the dimension of conditions of administrative accountability team attributed to number of years' experience in favor of the most experienced principals. In the light of the study results, a number of recommendations were suggested. |
