dc.description.abstract The research aimed at studying the effect of teaching a proposed historical unit entitled "Prophets and Ancient Civilizations in the Arab Nation" in the light of the scientific miracle approach of the Holy Qur'an" in developing the historical thinking skills of first year secondary school students. The sample of the study was 34 students from the first year secondary school, Assuit Governorate. The tools of the study (a list of historical thinking skills, the proposed historical unit, and the historical thinking skill test) were designed by the researcher. The research was conducted during the second semester of the scholastic year 2009/2020. The results proved the effectiveness of teaching the "Prophets and ancient civilizations in the Arab Nation in the light of the scientific miracles approach" Unit in developing the historical thinking skills as a whole and in every sub-skill. The study recommended the importance of benefiting from the Holy Qur'an Verses and its miracles when designing the history curricula at the different educational stages. en_US
