Abstract:
This study has targeted the inspection and acknowledgment of main goals of training for physical education teachers during the period of their services as teachers. It has also targeted the needs of teachers with relation to training programs and the varieties and methods of training while in service and all related problems to the training process. This study has been implemented on a random sample which consisted of 130 physical education teachers from the governmental sector schools in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The main tool used in this study was a questionnaire forwarded to the targeted teachers who were selected randomly as a sample of the study. The most important results of this study were as follow: 1. The increment of organized experiences and the development of teacher’s performance through the development of knowledge, skills and abilities should be the main goals of the training process which will motivate teachers to enhance their performance. 2. The study emphasized the need of both theoretical and practical aspects of physical education sciences for all teachers. 3. As with regard to training methods and styles, the study concluded through a highly percentage answers to the questionnaire that physical education teachers should undergo advanced training during their service for the sake of overall development and position increments. 4. Pertaining to problems facing training during teacher’s service period, the following elements were pointed out to be taken into consideration: educational planning, content, and efficacy with addition to appreciation, motivation, and evaluation.
