Abstract:
The objective of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of a training program in developing teachers` knowledge in modifying behaviors of children with mental retardation. Twenty-eight special education teachers participated in the study. A Jordanian version of the “Instrument to Measure Knowledge of Behavioral Principles” was used for data collection. Analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) was used for the data analysis that leads to answering the study questions. Results revealed statistically significant differences in teachers` behavior modification knowledge favoring teachers in the experimental group
